The tune “Es ist gewisslich” first appeared in Joseph Klug, Geistliche Lieder, Wittenberg, 1535, p. 27, where it was associated with Luther’s text, “Dear Christians, One and All, Rejoice (Nun freut euch, lieben Christen, g’mein).”
