This tune was originally in bar form (AAB), in 9.8. 9.8. 8.8., with the first two lines repeating. For the English translation of Haquin Spegel’s Swedish text “Wår Herres Jesu Kristi död (The Death of Jesus Christ, Our Lord),” the last syllable of the first line was removed, together with the repetition of the first two lines, to yield a tune in 8.8. 8.8.
