Tune: O Herre Gott

This text is translated 1939 by W. Gustave Polack from the anonymous 1527 text “O Herre Gott, dein göttlich Wort” and appears in The Lutheran Hymnal, 1941, No. 266. It remains copyright 1938 [!] Concordia Publishing House and therefore cannot be used for the Free Lutheran Chorale-Book. Polack’s translation is missing sts. 2, 5–6, and 8, which are found in Walther’s Hymnal, 2012, in a copyrighted translation by Matthew Carver. Those wishing to make use of this text are referred to The Lutheran Hymnal or Walther’s Hymnal.
