1

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wick- | ed,†
nor standeth in the | way ( of ) sin- ners,*
nor sitteth in the seat | of the ( scorn- ) ful.a

2

But his delight is in the | Law ( of ) the Lord,*
and in His Law doth He med- | itate ( day and ) night.

3

And he shall be like a tree planted by the riv- | ers ( of ) water,*
that bringeth forth his fruit | in his ( sea- ) son;

his leaf also | shall ( not ) wither,*
and all that he do- | eth shall ( pros- ) per.b

4

Not so | are ( the ) wicked,*
but are like the chaff which the wind | driveth ( a- ) way.

5

Therefore the wicked shall not stand | in ( the ) judgment,c*
nor sinners in the congregation | of the ( right- ) eous.

6

For the Lord knoweth the way | of ( the ) righteous,*
but the way of the wick- | ed shall ( per- ) ish.

Glory be to the Father, | and ( to ) the Son,*
and to the | Holy ( Spir- ) it;
as it was in the beginning, both | now ( and ) ever,*
and unto ages of | ages. ( A- ) men.

a (scornful, i.e., scoffers) Those who hold for idle folly whatever God saith and doeth.
b Jeremiah 17:8.
c (judgment) That is, they shall neither hold office, nor otherwise remain in the congregation of Christians; yea, they blow away, like the chaff from the wheat.
