The 114th Psalm. In exitu Israel.

To sing this Psalm, see the Psalm Tones.

1When Israel went | out ( of ) Egypt,*
the house of Jacob from a people | of strange ( lan- ) guage,

2Judah was His | sanc- ( tu- ) ary,*
Israèl | His do- ( min- ) ion.

3The sea | saw ( it ) and fled,*
the Jor- | dan was ( driven ) back.

4The | moun- ( tains skipped ) like rams,*
the hills | like lambs ( of the ) flock.

5What ailed thee, O thou sea, | that ( thou ) fleddest?*
thou Jordan, that | thou wast ( driven ) back?

6ye mountains, | that ( ye skipped ) like rams?*
ye hills, | like lambs ( of the ) flock?

7Tremble, thou earth, at the | pres- ( ence of ) the Lord,*
at the presence of the | God of ( Ja- ) cob,

8Which turned the rock into a | stand- ( ing ) water,*
the flint into a foun- | tain of ( wa- ) ters.

The 115th Psalm. Non nobis, Domine.

To sing this Psalm, see the Psalm Tones.

1Not unto us, O Lord, not un- | to us,†
but unto Thy | name ( give ) glory,*
for Thy mercy and | for Thy ( truth’s ) sake.

2Wherefore | should ( the na- ) tions say,*
… | Where is ( now their ) God?

3But our God is | in ( the ) heavens;*
all that He hath | pleasèd ( He hath ) done.

4Their idols are | sil- ( ver ) and gold,*
the | work of ( men’s ) hands.

5They have mouths, | but ( they do ) not speak;*
eyes have they, | but they ( do not ) see;

6They have ears, | but ( they do ) not hear;*
noses have they | but they ( do not ) smell;

7They have hands, but they do not hand- | le;†
feet have they, | but ( they do ) not walk,*
neither | speak they ( through their ) throat.

8They that make them are | like ( un- ) to them;*
so is everyone that | trusteth ( in ) them.

9O Israel, | trust ( thou in ) the Lord:*
their help | and their ( shield is ) He.

10O house of Aaron | trust ( in ) the Lord:*
their help | and their ( shield is ) He.

11Ye that fear the Lord, | trust ( in ) the Lord:*
their help | and their ( shield is ) He.

12The Lord hath been mindful of us; He will bless | us;†
He will bless the | house ( of Is- ) raèl;*
He will bless the | house of ( Aa- ) ron.

13He will bless | them ( that fear ) the Lord,*
both | the small ( and the ) great.

14The Lord shall in- | crease ( you more ) and more,*
both you | and your ( child- ) ren.

15Ye are | bless- ( ed of ) the Lord,*
which made | heaven ( and ) earth.

16The heavens, even the | heav- ( ens, are ) the Lord’s,*
but the earth hath he given to the | children ( of ) men.

17The dead | praise ( not ) the Lord,*
neither any that go down | into ( si- ) lence.

18But | we ( will bless ) the Lord*
from this time forth | and for- ( ever- ) more.

Alleluia.

Glory be to the Father, | and ( to ) the Son,*
and to the | Holy ( Spir- ) it;
as it was in the beginning, both | now ( and ) ever,*
and unto ages of | ages. ( A- ) men.
