O Man, If Thou Wilt Blessed Be

Tune: Mensch, willt du leben seliglich

  1. O man, if thou wilt blessèd be
    And dwell with God eternally,
Then shalt thou keep the Ten Commands
Which God hath placed in our hands.
    Kyrieleis!

  2. Thy God alone and Lord am I,
No other god shall draw thee by,
Thy heart shall trust alone in Me,
Thou shalt My own kingdom be.
    Kyrieleis!

  3. Thou shalt adore My name indeed,
And call on Me in ev’ry need.
Thou shalt the Sabbath day keep free,
That thus I may work in Thee.
    Kyrieleis!

  4. Obedient always, next to Me,
To father and to mother be.
Kill no one, and to wrath be slow.
Be true to thy marriage vow.
    Kyrieleis!

  5. Thou shalt not steal from anyone,
Nor bear false witness with thy tongue.
Thy neighbor’s wife do not desire,
Nor seek his goods to acquire.
    Kyrieleis!
